From the first teacher Tenga Rinpoche #0 to the first student Karma Samten Thjo Phel #0-1)

Thjoism employs a student teacher-based approach in its teaching and learning, as is common in all schools of Buddhism; meaning those gaining Sankler Status will be formally enrolled and receive their training/guidence from Thjo Phel a teacher from the Karma Samten lineage, whose Guru is Tenga Rinpoche, the reincarnation of Lama Samten, a Tibetan teacher in the Karma Kagyu tradition.
Your chance connection to Thjoism, like all that happens in one’s life, doesn’t come from nowhere; it happens based on your karma. You might call it an opening of the gate for those who are destined to enter. A gate that also closes on those unable or unwilling to put forth the effort required. Few are as fortunate as you, and sadly, even fewer take advantage of the opportunity that just passes them by.
Keep in mind that the Dharma and Buddhism are about understanding and then conquering the workings of the mind, and as such are not a religion, as is the common belief. A Sankler Knight can believe in and follow any religious path of his or her choosing, be a member or not of any religion and still gain from the wisdom and science found in the Buddha’s teachings. Buddhism does not claim a monopoly on the truth and does not condemn any religion. There are no dogmas, that one must blindly follow and believe in, no creeds one must accept on faith - only the truth and how to follow it.
Promotion(s)
All promotions to include the initial Sankling promotion will be coordinated with and approved at the temple level. Each step in the promotion process has a two-year minimum time-in-grade requirement. Each Knight is responsible for requesting or passing on the opportunity to request a promotion.
Those Knights that pass on the opportunity for promotion must wait an additional year to make a follow-up request. Follow-up requests can only be made in one-year increments.
Promotions must first be agreed upon with a Sankler, one of a higher rank than the applicant’s or a Sankha and then coordinated with and approved at the temple level.
